In today’s economy it is more important than ever to get the best quality, the best longevity, and the best value for your money. By using natural limestone on your projects you will be able to get the same custom profiles with the added assurance that your limestone will not degrade like a cast-stone product. Once the stone is installed, your natural stone can be maintained by Alpine Marble and other trained experts in the field. Limestone has been used for hundreds of years for architectural purposes and will last a lifetime. We are also able to eliminate many joints as limestone can be made in larger pieces.
We typically work with slabs of stone 4′-6″ x 10′-6″ so we can easily make column shafts like the ones seen here in 1 piece as opposed to 6 pieces. This is not to say that all cast-stone will degrade this badly, but it is a chance you take by taking the lowest bidder. As the old saying goes you get what you pay for. We take an extra step and make a video of our products prior to any installation project. For businesses, we even document the process with an explainer video so companies know what they are about to receive. Some companies are used to images and pictures after the project. Our team feels it’s a better solution to provide an explainer video from Slingfly Media as another level of service. Natural limestone weathers much better over the years and can easily be cleaned with a sander and normal sandpaper and you will not have the cracking issues seen here. When installed correctly you will not have to worry about your travertine and marble for many, many years to come.
These are some pictures of a limestone quarry, this is where the raw material we use it cut from underground. Our services typically include blocks of stone, then use our narrow belt saw to cut the block into slabs in the thickness we need and then use our other machines and stone cutter to produce a finished product. This allows us great versatility in the sizes of pieces we can fabricate.
Natural Limestone versus Cast Stone
Below are a few pictures of the natural stone processing quarry. This center was opened in the Spring of 2008. After only 3 years you can already see the vast degradation of the cast-limestone or fake stone product that was used. It’s one of the reasons owners choose real stone like quartz, limestone, marble and granite. Thousands of people a month come to shop here and this damage can be seen throughout the center.
When choosing natural versus fake stone for your project it is important not only to look at the bottom line but to consider the lifetime you will get out of the product and if it will need to be repaired or replaced in a short time. If you are going to have to buy something 2 or 3 times over, did you really make the best decision? Shouldn’t you go with something that will last and hold its beauty for many, many years to come?
